A Facebook user narrated his experience as he tried to enter the China Supermarket in Abuja.
According to Daily Trust, The management of a Chinese supermarket in
Gwarinpa area of Abuja has said Nigerians are denied entry into the
premises allegedly because of their nefarious activities.
The management however said Nigerians are allowed to enter the supermarket individually and not in group.
The
supermarket, which is situated at 9 Bauchi Street, War College Estate,
Gwarinpa, is a residential building turned supermarket and without a
name with only a Chinese decoration on the gate.
Our reporters were also denied entry as the gate man, simply called ‘Maxwell’ said they were more than one.
“You can only be allowed in if you are accompanied by policemen, because you are more than one” he said.
One
of the attendants, Samuel Azenda said the supermarket reached the
decision after it was robbed by Nigerians in May during which more than
N2.5 million was stolen.
He said until May, the gate was always open to all and sundry.
The
owners of the supermarket were not available to speak to our reporters
as they were said to have been flown to China for medical treatment as a
result of the injuries sustained during the robbery.
