Described as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the church to members of its host community, the Assistant Pastor in charge of CSR, Lagos Province 1, Femi Olunuga, said the programme included free eye test with provision of free glasses, free body tests for cervical cancer, breast cancer, diabetes and hypertension.
At the event, skills acquisition programmes were offered on food preparation and catering, barbing and grooming, fashion designing, refrigerators, air-conditioner repairs and maintenance, tiling/laying of tiles and production of paving stones, which is popularly called interlocking blocks.
Also, during the three-day programme, a team of sanitation officers went about decongesting the drains within the community to reduce the breeding of mosquitoes that could cause malaria or other endemic diseases. Treated mosquito nets were also given to pregnant women and families with children.
