7 things to know about the new iPhone 7

We predicted the launch of Apple’s new iPhone and we were right as the unveiling is currently happening at the Apple event in San Francisco.

We predicted 5 things to expect, but let’s see how much we got right.

iPhone 7In their usual fashion, the Apple company unveiled two phones at once. Predictably named the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, Apple’s twin gadgets are glass-and-aluminum reflections of what’s come before

Dual lens
Amazon already has a dedicated iPhone 7 page for accessories. The page confirms the rumours that the phone giant will now follow the lead of Huawei by releasing it’s own dual lens camera phones.

If you check the page now though, you’ll only find a cute dog photo. Clever Amazon! Clever. But we got you.

Same design
So they didn’t change the design as many on Chinese social media had predicted. Apple retained the round home button many have become used to but with a few changes. Apple completely redesigned the home button. The new button is rumoured to be more customisable. It has a new generation taptic engine, the button is now Force Touch sensitive.

Glossy back
While they have retained the front design, the new iPhone 7 comes in glossy backs.

Water-proof!
Finally the iPhone has reinforced casing that makes it water-resistant. This one is definitely a much awaited feature so thanks Apple. Apple says it has re-engineered the casing so that the phone can survive much H20 plunges.

Bye bye ear pods
Literally. You are going to lose your new iphone 7 ear phones. Apple has introduced new lighting pods which will replace the audio jack. The new technology employs Bluetooth.

Pricing
The new ear pods are rumoured to cost a whopping $159.

The phones? The iPhone 7 should retail at about $600 and the iPhone 7 plus at $769.
Remember Nigeria is in recession…?
